A dark dungeon should still be readable around the hero. The journey to that light starts above ground: defeat Gobma, collect the coin and visit the town merchant.

Earn the light.

The first Gobma defeat releases a coin into the world. Didga must collect it before spending it. Esme, the town merchant, sells a torch for one coin, connecting the first fight to a useful purchase for the descent. She is one of the town’s existing twenty villagers. The torch starts off. Once owned, it can be switched on or off underground using its on-screen control, L or the remappable controller action.

The coin and owned torch save in this browser when storage is available. A rematch does not award the first-defeat coin again; Start again resets the supplies along with the adventure.

Let the light travel.

The torch joins the underground adventure rather than replacing the existing wall fires. A textured handle, animated illustrated flame, bright local light and rising embers give the small object a presence in the 3D space. Its glow moves with Didga across the painted stonework.

The torch follows the glove in each illustrated viewing direction. During climbing, punching, jumping or carrying and throwing a crate, it moves to Didga’s belt to leave his hands free. Swimming puts the torch away.

Leave room for the adventure.

The torch is part of exploring Root Hollow. The five floors, their mechanisms, four seals, the Verdant Jewel and return ladders retain their established progression. The approved flame and material artwork are reused; the update does not redraw the characters or add new dungeon enemies.

What the review establishes.

Automated checks: 729/729 game checks passed; 35/35 selected website package and editorial checks passed.

Native browser review: actual public-package keyboard/UI review followed a fresh start through Gobma’s defeat, visible coin drop and pickup, Esme’s one-coin purchase and the cave descent; the owned torch began off; its on-screen and L controls switched its flame, local light and individual embers; running moved the light, punching used the belt attachment and pause held the animation still.

The cover is actual 0.33.0 gameplay. Software input review does not establish a fresh physical-controller gameplay test.
