Didga's painted remake adds low movement, marked climbing routes and a stage editor built around one screen at a time. The original adventure remains the starting point, with new construction saved as a separate project.
Duck, crawl, climb.
Hold Down to duck. Add Left or Right to crawl; at a marked ladder, use Up or Down to climb and Jump to leave it. Talking and marked treasury gates retain their interaction priority.
Eight new painted hero drawings provide four crawl poses and four climbing poses. Sprite Studio includes those drawings alongside the retained character sheets: ten atlases, 59 frames and seven character identities.
The low collision body lets Didga move beneath a low ceiling. Standing waits for clear headroom. Climbing animation stops on the current rung when movement stops, then continues when he moves again.

Reach the upper shelves.
The original collision layout contains shelves higher than Didga's ordinary jump can reach. Twenty-eight marked routes provide a way between existing floors and upper terraces while preserving all 85 original source collision rectangles. Route placement was checked against solid supports, spike traps and landing surfaces, including the high Gensin sword shelf.

Build one screen at a time.
Open Stage studio from the game. Its grid uses 960 × 600 per block, matching the logical game screen. Choose an adventure stage and select a room, then use Add above, Add left, Add right or Add below. New blocks receive floors and connecting ledges or ladders.
Original source blocks are protected. Remove selected room works on added outer rooms; a removal that would disconnect another addition is blocked. Undo and redo let you compare changes. Restore this stage returns that stage to its original bounds and routes, leaving other stages and sprite edits intact.
The top-right Stage map follows the active stage. Its player marker and camera rectangle make the relationship between a screen and the wider level visible as the camera moves.
Keep a portable stage project.
Save & apply to game saves the browser project and updates an open game on the same host and port, pausing the adventure while it adopts the layout. Extending above or left moves retained geometry and the current adventure together; it preserves an active climb and its animation phase. If a removed added room held the player, the game returns Didga to the safe original entrance.
Stage edits are separate from the preserved source layouts and sprite projects. Browser saves belong to the current host and profile; export a project backup with Export project JSON and import it with Import project JSON when moving the edited game to another computer or host. Import opens a draft; save/apply commits it. Unsaved workshop changes need a browser save or export before closing.
Check the route and the construction.
All 115 automated checks passed: 110 game checks and 5 packaging checks. Native browser checks covered the low crawling stance, ascent, a stationary rung, upper-terrace exit, descent and jumping off the ladder. Stage studio passed adding above and left, dependent-removal protection, safe outer removal, undo/redo, browser save, live update, portable JSON and reload checks.
An active climber moved by exactly one screen on each axis when the stage grew above and left. Restoring the bounds returned the same position and climbing phase. Stage studio also passed a 390 × 844 mobile check without horizontal overflow; adding above and undo worked, with a clean browser console. The initial stage project was backed up and restored after testing; saved sprite artwork was left intact. Movement captures use the actual game, renderer and Stage map in a separate test encounter without writing adventure progress.
Sprite Studio's new Duck, Crawl and Climb sequences were checked natively, including a transparent climbing-frame PNG download. The fresh portable build passed CRC, complete dependency and exact-source checks across all 146 archive entries, including original audio and the four remixes. All 23 original source files remain unchanged.
The painted remake and its editors are available locally. The public preserved games continue to use their original editions.
